We’re having a girl!

A couple weeks ago, I had a dream that we found out the baby was a girl. I didn’t want to get my hopes up, so I convinced myself that we were having another boy, which would have been fine with me. Tashi was guessing a girl…and he was right! I am so excited to dress her in cute dresses & pink, lots of pink!

This wonderful news almost made up for the not so good news. The placenta is partially covering my cervix, and if it doesn’t move up & away from my cervix, I’ll have to have a C-section. This also means I’m not allowed to exercise. I just bought a new maternity yoga DVD, so I was quite put out. I’m glad that I verbally expressed my disappointment at the thought of no exercise, because at first, my doctor told me that I’d have to wait 2 months before I had another sonogram to determine if the placenta moved out of the way. After I spoke up, she then said I really only had to wait 1, instead of 2 months – what a change! At least I get to see our little baby girl again at another sonogram in 1 month. I love seeing her move around on the monitor.

Aidan is so excited to be able to call the baby a girl, instead of “the baby.” We showed him the sonogram pics & he was so happy that he could actually see her head, arms & feet. He even kissed one of the pics!

The 1st pic below is a profile of her head & her little foot floating above her belly; 2nd pic is another profile with her hand near her nose & part of her leg. She sure was active during the sonogram! She kept nudging me, and kept trying to push against the sonogram wand!

  1. Yay! Congrats! Girls are sooo fun to dress up. Aidan is such a handsome boy, so you know she will be a gorgeous little girl. I don't think I knew you had a twin sister. So maybe someday you could have twins too? You two look so much alike. Catch ya later.

  2. Oh I am SO excited for you guys. CONGRATS!!! :) I had a simular experience as you did Holli. I dreamed I was pregnant with a boy but didn't want to get my hopes up either so when it was ultrasound time and found out that indeed it WAS a boy - I was estatic. Thanks for sharing the news. I look forward to meeting her!
P.S. We're not moving back to the NW after all so we can still get together even after your baby is here. YAY! I'll fill you in on the news soon. John said he also wouldn't mind driving up if you guys need an extra hand or two in moving this summer. Just let us know.
